Winter Wonderland

When I found out that my little Floridian nieces would be in Minnesota over the Christmas holiday, I was so excited to be with them when they saw snow for the first time. Dates were set aside for sledding, tubing, and other favorite winter activities throughout the week. But then something unexpected happened... there was no snow in Minnesota. Not only was none falling from the sky, but there was not even any on the ground from previous storms. We were bummed.

But, my stepdad Chuck had a plan. He scoped out a local park that not only makes snow all winter long, but has some of the most amazing tubing lanes I have ever seen. We had a wonderful time at Elm Creek Park tubing and playing in the snow.
Katie, Chad, Chuck, Reese, Chris, Sage, and I ready for an afternoon of fun in the snow!
Halfway through our time on the tubing hills, Reese turned to us and said, I don't ever want to leave here. We reminded her of the warm weather and beautiful beaches in Florida, but her mind was made up. She wanted to stay in the Minnesota snow forever. She loved every second of her time in the snow.
Nothing like wearing all of your little brother's winter gear for a day on the hills...
Even my mom went down once... and loved it.
I will forever remember our time at Elm Creek, and Reese and Sage's excitement as they stepped in snow for the first time.

  1. This is SO cute! Reese and Sage are adorable! I'm so happy that they got a chance to experience a snowy winter!!

  2. Growing up in sunny Texas, I can totally see why your Floridian nieces wanted to stay in the snow! Christmas should be snowy, and it's so cool that you all got to experience that. I'm hoping for snow soon in NYC!

  3. HI! I'm a new follower :o) The snow tubing place looks amazing! Being from New England, I am no stranger to snow and can not wait to go snow tubing this winter!
