Our Minnesota Wedding Reception {just us}

A month after our New York City wedding we celebrated with our extended family and friends in my hometown. Our brunch reception was held at Rush Creek Golf Club in Maple Grove, MN. The entire morning was perfect! Before our festivities began we took photos with our families. I was so excited to wear my dress a second time! I changed up my belt, hair, and flowers from my NYC look and Brian wore a new tie. The outcome? A second set of wedding portraits! It was such a pleasure to work with Rachel and Rob of De La Vue. I also was head over heels in love with my bouquet, created by Emily of Hadley Road.

Brian and I had the most amazing time upstate on our mini-moon the weekend after our New York City wedding. We spent our days hiking around the Barryville area and our evenings enjoying fantastic dinners in Narrowsburg and Honesdale. Here is a little video capturing our favorite moments from our long weekend. I can't wait to share more photos soon!

Gramercy Park Hotel

Brian and I booked a room at the Gramercy Park Hotel for our wedding night. Our wedding dinner was held downstairs at Maialino and we knew we would appreciate being able to go right to our room at the end of the evening. We were greeted with champagne, cupcakes, and a huge room upgrade. Being newlyweds has its perks!

I instantly fell in love with the Gramercy Park Hotel. The velvet gem tones, signature scent (Le Labo designed Cade 26 specifically for the hotel), and unique lighting fixtures make the space incredibly elegant and romantic. We are already talking about spending another night there for our first anniversary!

One of our favorite perks about staying at the Gramercy Park Hotel was having access to Gramercy Park. This two acre park is one of two private parks in New York City. Only the residents who live around the park and pay an annual few have access to the space. We woke up early Saturday morning to enjoy the park together as husband and wife. We had the place to ourselves and loved wandering the paths and relaxing in the gardens. We look so tired in these photos (which we were!), but so happy. It was the perfect way to start our day!

Married.

Our wedding day was like a dream. I had always wanted a small, intimate New York wedding. We invited 19 of our loved ones to witness our marriage ceremony at City Hall in Manhattan. After we were married, Brian and I rode around the city together in a 1969 checkered cab. We stopped in DUMBO, admired the views from the Top of the Rock Observation Deck, and strolled around Gramercy Park. That evening we had the most amazing meal with our family at Maialino in the Gramercy Park Hotel. We laughed and cried through many speeches and left with full bellies and hearts.  It was honestly the most happy and least stressed I have been in my entire life. I cannot wait to spend a lifetime with Brian!

License to wed.

Two weeks ago Brian and I took the afternoon off to go get our marriage license. We opted to go to the City Clerk's office in Manhattan to scope out the scene before our wedding. After we got our marriage license we had a date night downtown. We got our auras read at Magic Jewelry (both of our energies showed love and sensitivity- wedding ready!), had an early dinner at La Esquina, and picked up cold brew at Happy Bones. At the end of the evening we stopped at Sugar Sweet Sunshine to order our wedding cake. It was the perfect day!

Sorry for the silence on the blog lately. Last weekend Brian and I sat down to start planning our wedding, and we quickly concluded that the sooner we get married the better! We spent the past week making appointments, booking venues, and making guest lists for our upcoming wedding festivities. I cannot wait to call Brian my husband! Thank you again for all of the congratulations and well wishes on our engagement announcement! Each and every message means to much to us during this incredibly special time.
