A little video from our honeymoon...

Here is a little video from our honeymoon in Turks and Caicos. We had so much fun using our LifeProof case while snorkeling. Although we had heard some negative reviews about the case, we did not have any issues with it while swimming and diving. We also had a LifeProof life jacket for the phone, which made me much less nervous while swimming in deep water. All underwater and biking footage was taken on my iPhone 6S. Everything else was shot using my Canon 6D. Enjoy!

I can't wait to share some of my photos from my Mexican girls' getaway this week! I met up with my best friend Amy in Tulum for a much needed vacation. We had the best time sitting on the beach, exploring the ruins, and catching up over delicious meals. We have known each other for almost 20 years and this vacation was the perfect way to celebrate our friendship!

Girls' Mexican Getaway!

Girls' Getaway

One of the (many) perks of loving the people you teach with is that you have all of the same days off, meaning you always have someone to relax and hang out with! Several of us girls took advantage of the Jewish holiday last week with a three-day getaway upstate. We were lucky enough to stay at my friend Liz's country house in Saugerties, NY. We arrived Sunday evening at sunset and had a delicious meal at Miss Lucy's Kitchen, a farm to table restaurant in the heart of Saugerties. I especially loved the house made pappardelle with local sausage, fennel, leeks, cherry tomatoes, and wilted greens. Everything we ordered was amazing!

We woke up Monday morning to chilly weather. We bundled up in our fleeces and sweaters and treated ourselves to brunch at Phoenicia Diner. The grits were just as yummy as I remembered! After brunch we picked up local ingredients in Woodstock to bake a peach blueberry pie. That evening we ordered pizza from Slices and watched episodes of Sex and the City after dining in at home. Allidah worked her magic in the kitchen and baked an amazing pie that we had for breakfast on our final morning. The weather warmed up on Tuesday and we cherished every minute of the sunshine poolside. It felt so nice to escape the hustle and bustle of New York City and relax upstate.

If you are looking for a beautiful place to stay in Saugerties, check out Liz's rental on airbnb. The home accommodates twelve and offers a variety of amenities. We loved relaxing by the koi pond and pool, both located on the property. The kitchen and great rooms are also perfect for entertaining and hanging out with friends!

Day Trip to Oxford

It's hard to believe it has already been two months since my vacation in London! Since it was my third trip across the pond I decided it was time to take a day trip outside of the city. After researching several locations, my friend Joanna and I decided to explore Oxford for the day.

We hopped on a train early Sunday morning to Oxford, which is a little over an hour from Central London. There were no seats left on the train by the time we boarded, but luckily a lot of passengers got off at the first stop and we were able to sit the rest of the ride. As soon as we arrived we stopped at the information desk at the train station and picked up Quick Guide Oxford, which included a map of the area and a walking tour that we relied on during our visit.

Our walking tour began on Broad Street, where we admired Blackwell's Bookshop and Trinity College. We stopped for a quick lunch at The King's Arms, the oldest pub in Oxford dating back to 1607. We also saw Radcliffe Camera, All Souls College, Sheldonian Theatre, and Bodleian Library. Unfortunately, we were unable to tour the inside of the library due to the limited hours on Sundays.

After touring the historic sights along Broad Street, we walked past the Covered Market to Christ Church. The meadow outside the church was picturesque and perfectly manicured, and ended up being one of my favorite sights of the day. The Great Hall inside Christ Church was also amazing.

We concluded our day with a quick visit inside The Divinity School. We stocked up on some healthy snacks in the train station and were back in London by dinnertime. 

If you are in London I highly recommend a day trip to Oxford! The beautiful architecture, cobblestone streets, and abundance of history make it a wonderful place to explore.
