Final days of summer.

During these final days of summer, I am trying to make the most of my flexible daytime schedule and the beautiful, dry summer weather that arrived last week in New York City. That means lots of get togethers with friends, errands run across the boroughs, and days spent outside at my favorite parks and restaurants.

Friday, I had a fabulous lunch at Agave in the West Village with my girlfriends Jen and Joanna. I love how after months apart, we can sit down and say, "Okay, where did we leave off," and continue to talk for hours about all that has happened since our last picnic in Central Park. Margarita samplers, guacamole, tacos, and quesadillas were enjoyed as the breeze blew through the open windows surrounding us.
After lunch, we walked across the street for sno-balls at Imperial Woodpecker. Joanna lived and taught in New Orleans for a few years, and was excited to try the Mardi Gras King Cake flavor. I loved the coffee cream sno-ball I ordered. Imperial Woodpecker will be closing on August 31st, so head down to the village if you have not checked it out yet! It is the perfect snack on a hot summer day!
