Life threw me a sucker punch last week. Wednesday morning I felt a little off and attributed it to too much coffee during my early morning ride to Brooklyn. But by lunch time I knew it was something more. I left work early, almost lost my breakfast on the Q train (commuting while sick is not fun), and was in full stomach flu/fever mode by the time I got home. It was absolutely miserable. For almost two days I was completely out of commission. Luckily, Brian was beyond amazing- he cooked, cleaned, brought me heating pads, and woke up in the middle of the night every time I did. Honestly, I wouldn't have made it through without him!
Aside from a concert date night at Terminal 5 on Saturday night to see Bear's Den and Daughter, I spent the majority of my weekend recuperating at home. The perks of staying in all weekend? Watching Season One of Arrested Development (how did it take me this long?!), making homemade apple sauce with some of the apples we picked last weekend, cleaning my closet, and taking lots of naps. I might have also started watching Friday Night Lights from the beginning for the second time... what can I say, Netflix has changed my life. How was your weekend?
Oh, Netflix. What a magical site! We spent Saturday getting some baking done, too! We totally went apple picking on the same day and in the same region! We didn't make apple sauce, though. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that you're feeling better and that you were able to have some time to rest. I barely made it to work yesterday and had to come home early because I was sick. I'm trying for today, but I'm going to ask to leave early since the kids let out early today, too. Blech. I hate being sick!

I hate the flu! I hope you're feeling better :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad you're starting to feel better my friend. Having the flu is the absolute worst! Sounds like the perfect weekend for recuperation :) xxx
ReplyDeleteOh no! I hope you are feeling much better by now. Being ill on the train is worst. Glad to hear you had a wonderful caretaker at home to nurse you back to health though!
