Reynard

This week all schools are closed for winter break, a phenomenon I did not experience until I moved to New York City. While many of my teacher friends are away enjoying sunshine and warm weather, I dedicated this week to a stay-cation in the city. I quickly filled my calendar with brunches, lunches, cocktails, and museum visits. My first date of the week was with my close friend Michael. We trekked through the rain to Reynard, a charming Williamsburg restaurant located in the Wythe Hotel. We caught up over cappuccinos and devoured our entrees in record time. The thick-cut bacon on the egg sandwich was delicious and the dutch pancake with gruyere and prosciutto was a-mazing. After a stroll around the neighborhood we returned for more coffee and an ice cream sandwich. It was the perfect day date to kick off our week away from work!

  1. That restaurant looks great :) would you recommend it for drinks, dinner, breakfast or lunch? I might pay it a visit during my trip to NYC in August

    1. Hey Daphne! I have only been for brunch, but I know some friends who have loved it for dinner and drinks as well! The owner, Andrew Tarlow, has several amazing restaurants in Brooklyn that are all noteworthy and worth checking out.

  2. I've only been to the rooftop bar at the Wythe but Reynard looks gorgeous. I bet it's a mob scene on the weekend but lovely for a weekday lunch. I'll have to take a "mental health day" sometime and give it a try. A place that serves ice cream sandwiches is hard to pass up!

    1. Yes, definitely treat yourself to a meal there! I am sure weekends are pretty crazy. Andrew Tarlow has several restaurants in Brooklyn and they are all amazing. I actually teach his daughter in my second grade class! The family is amazing, which makes me love their restaurants even more!

This looks like a great spot and the food photos are making me hungry. So delicious.
