Scenes from the weekend.

50 degree weather! Cropped boots! Leather jacket! What a treat before the blizzard arrived Monday morning.
I dread hauling my laundry two blocks, but isn't my laundromat pretty?
This weekend was the perfect beginning to February. Saturday morning I met up with my friend Vanessa for brunch at Queens Comfort. Vanessa and I met through our blogs a few years ago and we happen to live off the same subway stop in Astoria! We had a great time catching up over coffee, pork tots, biscuits, and gravy. My photo of the restaurant is deceiving; I took it several hours after the large crowds of diners had disappeared from when we were there. Queens Comfort is definitely a hot spot for brunch every weekend!

Brian and I taught Emily how to play Clue Saturday night and by Sunday afternoon she got the hang of it and almost solved her first case! We also baked some of our favorite gluten-free cookies (I love this line of mixes) and watched Shrek the Third. Sunday I stayed in my sweats for most of the day, but managed to clean our house and do a couple loads of laundry before the Super Bowl Sunday night. We watched the game over nachos, wings, and ice cream. How was your weekend?

  1. I can't decide if this past weekend was a gift or a supremely terrible tease.

    1. Both! The warm weather was amazing, but such a tease before our next round of winter storms. I cannot wait for spring to arrive!

    1. Hey Chantel!

So sorry for my late response to your comment. I fell behind on my blog comments the past few weeks, and am getting all caught up now on my week off! My laundromat is awesome, but I truly despise doing laundry. Carrying my clothes the couple blocks is never fun! It is my NYC dream to have a washer and dryer. Maybe one day it will come true! I hope you are having a wonderful week!

  3. That Sunday weather was insane! Some Super Bowl fans/organizers must have done something to please the weather gods.

I have heard such good things about Queens Comfort--including it is BYOB! A couple friends and I have been meaning to go and bring our own mimosa kit :) Glad you had a great weekend!
