Sunday Stroll

We had a lazy start to our Sunday morning. The long days of sight seeing were catching up with us, and my family's late night out in the village Saturday night added to their grogginess. So, we took it slow. We started the morning on the upper west side. We chowed down on buttered bagels, sandwiches, and slices of pizza on a stoop. Not our stoop of course, but no one seemed to mind.
Then, we headed east to Central Park. We happened to stroll by Sting and his wife as we walked across 72nd Street, no big deal... oh wait! Big deal. It was a fun sighting. We entered the park at Strawberry Fields. We listened to a man play Imagine on his acoustic guitar as we took some pictures of the famous mosaic.
And then we just strolled. All over the park on a sunny spring day. And it was perfect.
We ended our Central Park excursion in the south eastern corner of the park, one of my favorite spots.
From there we walked through the Plaza Hotel, shopped on 5th Avenue, hung out in Rockefeller Center, and then headed down to Bryant Park to see the iconic library. I looked out for Peter Venkman, but he was nowhere to be seen.
I don't think we could have crammed any more into our three-day weekend of sight seeing and hanging out together in New York City. I had so much fun getting to spend time with my family and as always, wished they lived here and not a flight away! Thanks Chad, Jamie, Katie, and Corey for a wonderful weekend!

  1. I love central park. I wanna go backkkk! And how cool you saw Sting!! That's awesome. The one time I was in NY, we went to Planet Hollywood and I saw Bruce Willis! Yay for celebrity sightings!
