Road tripping.

Early Thursday morning, Brian and I packed up our rental car, stocked up on Starbucks iced coffee, and were off. Destination: Acton, Maine. First, we stopped in Connecticut to pick up Emily. We excitedly talked about all of the things we wanted to do on our vacation as we made our way up the Merritt. Emily's top five list included:

  1. Swimming in Wilson Lake
  2. Playing in the sand
  3. Going to Storyland
  4. Taking motorboat rides
  5. Seeing Mimi and Bumpa

Within the first hour of driving, we made our first stop to pick up some snacks, including a Whatchamacallit. I eat these every road trip, and only on road trips. They are one of the first signs that we are officially on vacation.
For lunch, we stopped at Katz's Deli Restaurant in Woodbridge, CT. The menu resembled our favorite diner spots in New York, and the pastrami and onion rings were delicious.
We picked up a black and white cookie before getting back on the road. What can I say, I like to eat healthy when on an eight hour road trip. Oh wait...
We made it to Brian's parents house before nightfall, and caught up over pizza and wings before heading to bed. We are so happy to be relaxing in Maine! More pictures and adventures to come... Happy weekend everyone!
