I love NY.

I say it time and time again- I love New York. It thrills me, it surprises me, it impresses me, and it takes my breath away on a daily basis.

So, you can imagine my excitement when 20 minutes before our decent into LaGuardia Airport on Wednesday night, the captain announced that we would be flying over Manhattan. Not only that, but he said that the right side of the aircraft would have direct views of the city. I just so happened to have a window seat on the right side.

And the view was absolutely breathtaking. I am in awe of this city that I call home.

    Wow those are amazing photos, even if it did take me a second to register that the big dark patch as the wing of a plane and not some kind of massive power cut! Ha!

    Wow, you were able to get such amazing photos from the plane! I also didn't recognize the wing at first, I thought it might be water.

    Gorgeous! I've flown over the city on descent during the daytime, but never at night. You're lucky :)
