Scenes from the weekend.

I kicked off my weekend festivities Friday night at our annual work party at our principal's mom and stepdad's loft in DUMBO. I look forward to the party at Nana's every year- the views, the food, and the company are always amazing! After a few hours of eating and mingling, my friend Liz and I traveled back to Manhattan for the private opening of Write of Passage, a new graffiti exhibition at a gallery in Chelsea. After waiting in line with our tickets for about a half an hour, they announced that they were over capacity and would not be letting anyone else into the event. We were bummed out that we didn't get in, but quickly perked up when we realized the new Banksy pieces were only a few blocks away. We walked over to 24th Street and 10th Avenue to view his two paintings (more pictures of them coming soon!) and also stumbled upon the new Getty Station public art space. I am so in love with those sheep!

Saturday we traveled up to the New York Botanical Gardens to check out Kiku and the Haunted Pumpkin Garden. It was such a lovely afternoon! We watched a Japanese drum performance, had lunch in the cafe, and spent a few hours exploring the grounds. Sunday was just as packed with a trip to another fresh Banksy piece on 79th Street (more pictures coming soon of this one, too!), some shopping in midtown, a trip to the gym, and dinner at Milkflower with my friend Vanessa. Although I am feeling a little tired today from the weekend, I am so grateful I had so many fun and excited things to do! How was your weekend?

  1. You always do so many fun things! That view is amazeballs. Holy heck!

Fun fact: My parents were married at the New York Botanical Gardens! I don't think I've ever been, though.

You had such an ambitious art weekend. I can't wait to see your posts on the Banksy pieces. It's so fun hearing about his project.
