Scenes from the weekend.

My dad was in town for the day on Saturday and it was so great to see him! We met up early Saturday morning in Hell's Kitchen for breakfast at Amy's Bread. We stocked up on vegetable quiches, pastries, and coffee and enjoyed our meal outside in Worldwide Plaza. I lived in Hell's Kitchen for a few years back in college when Brian and I first started dating, and being there always brings back so many happy memories. After breakfast we walked up through Columbus Circle and into Central Park. Fall is in full swing here in New York City and the foliage is even more beautiful than I remember in years past. Saturday also delivered early September temperatures (hello 60's!), so we planned to spend as much time outside as possible. We wandered through the southern end of the park and stopped to admire our surroundings often. It was an absolutely gorgeous day. We had a late lunch back in Hell's Kitchen at Delta Grill before my dad had to get back on the ship for another two weeks of traveling. It was so nice to have my dad's cruise dock in NYC twice over the past month; I wish it was always his main port!

After a busy day out on Saturday, the rest of my weekend was spent at home. Saturday night we had a date night in with desserts from our local Italian bakery and Horrible Bosses. Sunday I treated myself to a manicure/pedicure, Brian cooked an amazing pot roast with extra mashed potatoes (per my request), and I cleaned the house in anticipation of a busy week ahead. How was your weekend?

  1. I love the color of that last building! It's really beautiful. Also, Horrible Bosses is hilarious and shocking and Charlie Day makes me very happy.

This weekend went by so quickly! I organized my closet and dresser, which was time consuming, but totally necessary! ;)
