Scenes from the weekend.
We always have Emily over the Thanksgiving holiday, so we have a lot of traditions worked into the long weekend. On Saturday we had our second annual girls' day in Manhattan, which included admiring the holiday decor on Fifth Avenue, a trip to the chocolate store for truffles, and a snack at the Plaza Food Hall. We had a lovely time! We started our girls' day tradition last year and are so excited to continue it for years to come. We also took Emily to her first Guster concert on Saturday at the Beacon Theater, one of my favorite venues in the city. They were performing the Keep It Together album in its entirety in honor of its ten-year anniversary. It is my favorite of their albums, so I was especially excited! After a fun-filled holiday weekend, I ended up spending the entire day on Sunday in my pajamas organizing my old photo files, unpacking winter sweaters, and watching way too many episodes of Pretty Little Liars. How was your weekend?

ReplyDeleteHey Alyssa!
DeleteThanks so much for commenting! New York City is magical during the holiday season. I am excited to take it all in over the next few weeks! Also, I am looking forward to following all of your holiday posts! Hope you have a wonderful week.
What a sweet girls tradition! I hope you and Emily had a great day out on the town.
ReplyDeleteAnd Guster! You guys really are hard core fans. I'm sure it was a good show!
Gorgeous photos! And your traditions sound super fun - I love being that age where you're finally ready to set your own traditions in addition to what your family usually does. That's what the holidays are all about. :)
ReplyDeleteHey! Thanks so much for commenting. I love starting new traditions as well. We recently started our girls day, our 12 dates of Christmas, and our favorite holiday can't-miss movies. It is a very special time of year! Thanks for following along!
DeleteI love the window displays on Fiftth Ave. They look fabulous this year, especially the one with all the cake and pink theme. Have to go see them this year!
ReplyDeleteWe love the windows, too! Mine and Brian's first date eight years ago was walking from the Rockefeller Rink up 5th Avenue looking at the windows. We try to recreate the date every year! That Valentine's Window is amazing this year! I think I have already included photos of it in two posts... I can't get enough!
