Twelve dates of Christmas: On our fifth date of Christmas...

... we decorated our Christmas tree!
Brian and I had a blast stringing lights and hanging ornaments last weekend. One of my favorite parts about decorating the tree every year is unwrapped ornaments I forgot I had. This year I loved rediscovering an ornament of the Brooklyn Bridge I purchased last winter at a holiday market when my friend Amy was visiting from Minnesota. It will always remind me of the wonderful weekend we had together! I also love hanging an ornament my grandparents gave me from their very first Christmas tree together over 50 years ago, my souvenir ornaments from trips taken with Brian and Emily, and all of my New York City holiday decor.
We saved an entire box of ornaments to hang with Emily this weekend. Yay for twice the holiday decorating cheer! More photos to come once our tree is all decorated!

    1. Thanks Cat! I love all of the ornaments from our trips; they hold so many special memories! We have a lobster from Boston, a loon from our summer home in Maine, an old Victorian house from a trip to a bed and breakfast in Cape May, and a ceramic bulb from our most recent trip to Mexico. I love buying ornaments (It is kind of an issue!).

    1. Hey Cristian,

Thanks so much for commenting. I am so in love with our Christmas tree this year! The rest of our decorations went on last weekend and it is completely full now! I featured a few more of my NYC ornaments on my scenes from the weekend post. Hope you are having a lovely December!

  3. What a fun date! I'm glad Brian was into it too. I have a feeling it would be like pulling teeth to get my boyfriend to help me decorate a tree! Your collection of ornaments is pretty impressive. It's so sweet that many of them have stories and memories attached.

    1. Thanks Melissa! He gives me several eye rolls throughout the experience in regards to the amount of ornaments I have accumulated, but he enjoys it, too! This past weekend we put on all of his ornaments, which he liked. We still have one that he made back in kindergarten in 1976! Crazy!
