Scenes from the weekend.

Friday morning I had my first of two surgeries to eliminate some of my varicose veins, a hereditary condition I inherited from my grandmother.  I was terrified to say the least, and am so grateful I had Brian with me to get through it. After many shots of local anesthetic up and down my left leg, some burning, and lots of pulling, I left NYU Langone Center wrapped like a mummy and headed home for a weekend of recovery. I spent three days taking leisurely walks around my apartment every hour to keep my blood flowing, watched every show saved in my DVR box, caught up on some work, and enjoyed several home-cooked meals prepared by Brian. I honestly cannot thank him enough for all he did for me while I was at home. I am back at work now (hobbling around) and prepping for my second surgery this week. Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery!

How was your weekend? I would love to hear about it!

  2. Sounds like an ordeal, but you made it through! <3

I spent my Saturday at work, hanging out with all of the kiddies for a family fun day. It was hard to think about giving up my day to head back into the Bronx, but the kids were so happy and I think it was totally worth it. ;)

  6. I'm interested to hear how it turned out. Have thought about it before. I hate that I'm 5'6", weigh 135lbs and have ugly veins on the back of my legs. I always feel like I need to wear longer shorts! Prayers for a speedy recovery!
