Last weekend one of my oldest and dearest friends, Jill, came to visit me in New York City. Jill and I have been friends since fifth grade, and I knew that regardless of what we did or what the weather was like we would have a great time catching up. Lucky for us, New York City delivered with perfect September weather, delectable meals, and street after street of shops stocked with new fall collections.
Our three day-weekend was jam-packed with some of my favorite New York City sights and restaurants. We treated ourselves to manicures and pedicures, shopped up and down Fifth Avenue, walked across the Brooklyn Bridge, admired the Manhattan skyline from Brooklyn Bridge Park, browsed boots and bags in SoHo, and quietly walked around the memorial pools at the 9/11 Memorial. After brunches at Friend of a Farmer on Saturday and Norma's on Sunday, we snacked on macarons, pizza from Two Boots, steamed pork buns and homemade s'mores from Brooklyn Smorgasburg in DUMBO, and frozen hot chocolates from Serendipity as we wandered uptown and downtown.
