Better Out Than In

Have you been following the Banksy craze here in New York City? I found out about his latest project, Better Out Than In: An artist residency on the streets of New York, a couple weeks ago and am fascinated with the attention is getting around the five boroughs. Throughout the month of October, Banksy is revealing his latest street art creations on both his website and on Instagram (@banksny). As soon as a piece is revealed, New Yorkers flock to the neighborhood in hopes of catching a glimpse of the art before it is tagged over or covered. Meanwhile, the police and Bloomberg are on a mission to catch him. It all feels so risky, secretive, and exciting!

On Friday night my friend Liz and I walked over to 24th and 10th Avenue where two Banksy pieces (in collaboration with Brazilian twins Os Gemeos) were on display in a private space below the Highline. We were able to walk right up to the artwork in the open gallery space, take photographs, and hang out in the crowd.
Finding one-of-a-kind Banksy pieces on a Friday night? New York, you never disappoint.

  2. Wow, very cool that you got to see it! I think it's sad that people graffiti over stuff like this. :(
