Scenes from the weekend.
Friday I had my second vein surgery, this time on my right leg. This procedure was easier than the first, and I am already feeling much more upbeat about my recovery. I walked around all day today with minimal pain- woohoo! Over the weekend we celebrated Brian's birthday a little early with Emily. I baked a cake, she planned a menu of Pirate's Booty and pizza, and we watched Tangled together Saturday night. On Sunday I treated myself to a bright spring manicure and a bouquet of tulips to counter the cold wind and rain. Luckily the temperatures are warming up this week. How was your weekend?

Glad to hear you are on the up and up! A birthday dinner of Pirate's Booty and pizza sounds amazing! Love the mani (I'm dying for some spring color too!) and I have that same phone cover!
ReplyDeleteI hope it's been a good week!
Rifle Paper phone covers are the best! I cracked the plastic part at the bottom of mine, so it might be time for a new one soon. There are a ton I have been eyeing- the cat one, the Paris map, the black floral design... it will be hard to choose! Hope you had a wonderful weekend!
DeleteI hope your recovery is fast and goes smoothly. I love the spring color, it's beautiful! Have a fantastic weekend!

Hey Bre! Thanks so much for the kind message. My recovery is going well and I am very excited to head back to the gym tomorrow for the first time. Hope you had a wonderful weekend!
DeleteGlad to hear your surgery went well and that this one was a little less painful. Will this be your last one?
ReplyDeleteThe tulips are beautiful! I know everyone up North has battled a brutally long winter this year but I'm sure the warmer weather is on its way because we're already sweating down here in the South. :)
Yes, I am all done with my surgeries! Recovery is going well and I almost feel completely back to normal! Tomorrow will be my first day back at the gym, which will be nice. This weekend really felt like spring and the forecast for the week looks great. I am more than ready for warmer temperatures!
DeleteHope you had a great weekend!
I visit your blog often and rarely if ever leave a comment (sorry!). Tonight, I have poured a cup of tea and sat and read back through so many of your posts. I'm in Australia and my husband and I have only spent a mere 14 days in NYC but my oh my we fell in LOVE with your city. Your blog reminds me of the incredible time we had there and leaves me longing for more adventures through your city. One day perhaps. I am a primary teacher also and love how passionate you are about your job and students, it must be amazing to teach in NYC!!! Anyway, just wanted to say hi and thank you for sharing such a great space with us all. Katrina
