Iced coffee- round two. Museum of the City of New York. |
I kicked off my weekend festivities at my friend Kate's second annual ice cream social. It is one of my favorite spring get togethers! Kate selects a variety of artisanal ice creams (10 pints, to be exact!) that we sample while sipping prosecco and snacking on appetizers. This year I enjoyed Kate's husband's homemade sourdough bread just as much as the ice cream- it was delicious! Out of the ten flavors sampled, my favorite was the olive oil pint from Fairway.
On Sunday Brian and I returned to the Astoria Flea for more Khao Man Gai, which I had been craving all week long. We also visited
Kinshop Coffee Cooperative, a fantastic new coffee shop in the neighborhood that serves Stumptown Coffee (yes!). After fueling up we spent the afternoon in the Conservatory Gardens in Central Park. The weather was beautiful into the evening, so we enjoyed dinner outside at Antika before heading home. It was a fantastic spring weekend!
That olive oil ice cream was the surprise hit of the party, wasn't it? Loved your pictures and recap. I'll bring you some more of Shawn's bread when we meet up at Shake Shack :) He's thrilled everyone liked it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kate! I loved that bread and can't wait to eat more soon!

ReplyDeleteHey Melissa! I love Kate's ice cream social; it is such a fun way to bring people together! It could be adapted for so many foods- cheese party, wine party, beer party... the options are endless! Hope you have a nice long weekend!
