Scenes from the (long) weekend.

My friends Rachel and Joe arrived on Thursday afternoon for a long weekend-visit to New York City. Rachel had never been to the city before, so I packed in a ton of sights and restaurants during their stay. We had a blast exploring our way through Queens, Manhattan, and Brooklyn! A highlight for me was our morning at the Guggenheim Museum. On Kawara- Silence was incredibly thought-provoking; I highly recommend checking it out! It was very strange and fascinating and I ended up enjoying it much more than anticipated.
By Saturday morning springtime temperatures and blue skies arrived (finally!). We took advantage of the beautiful weather by walking across the Brooklyn Bridge, riding the Staten Island ferry by the Statue of Liberty, and wandering through the tree-lined streets of Brooklyn Heights. On Sunday morning we devoured comfort foods at Queens Comfort before their afternoon flight back to Phoenix. Rachel and Joe, thank you so much for visiting!
