Hillside Schoolhouse

The second I discovered the Hillside Schoolhouse I knew we had to spend our mini-moon there. The building was constructed in 1893 and served as a one-room schoolhouse until around 1950 when it became a gospel church. Bronson, the proprietor of Hillside Schoolhouse, kept the original chalkboards, wood floors, and large country windows when he restored the space in 2012 and converted it into a two-room boutique hotel.

We spent our mini-moon listening to records, playing cribbage, and relaxing in the large living room on the first floor of the schoolhouse. It was the perfect space to kick back after our hikes around the Delaware River. We also loved Room 1893; how amazing is that bathroom wallpaper?! We hope to return to the schoolhouse soon for another upstate getaway. It would be the perfect place to celebrate our one year anniversary!
