Scenes from the weekend.

The warmer weather has finally arrived! We tried to spend as much time as possible outside this weekend. On Saturday Brian, Emily, and I visited the Bronx Zoo. We spent most of our time watching the gorillas. There were several new baby gorillas, which were so incredibly adorable! On Sunday I met up with my dad for brunch at Freemans. After our delicious meal we walked around the lower east side for a bit before returning to Rivington for ice cream at Morgenstern's. I was pretty upset when I learned that they stopped making my favorite salt and pepper pine nut ice cream, but the Vietnamese coffee flavor made up for it. I have several ice cream shops I want to try this season. New Yorkers, what are your favorite ice cream destinations in the city?

Bushwick.

Brian, Emily, and I spent a Sunday afternoon together walking through the art-covered streets of Bushwick. We were amazed by the quantity and quality of the pieces throughout the Brooklyn neighborhood! Our day reminded me of the many times we visited 5 Pointz, which I still miss dearly every time we drive by the old graffiti mecca. I can't wait to return to Bushwich once the weather warms up. It is an awesome area to explore!

New York City Street Art: Instax Prints

One of my summer goals was to use my Instax camera more. I invested in 15 boxes of film and made a point to take my Fuji Neo Classic camera with me while traveling abroad and exploring my own city. In late August I spent a day walking around downtown in search of a new street art piece by JR, Mr André, and Os Gemeos. I ended up finding exactly what I was looking for and also discovered a ton of other amazing street art! I shot everything on my Canon 6D as well, but wanted to share my film images with you today. In a world of digital everything, I love slowing down with my Fuji camera and working to get the perfect shot. I can't wait to shoot more Instax film this fall.
