Perfect Picnic in Central Park

After months apart, this morning I reunited with two wonderful girlfriends from college for a picnic in Central Park. And let me just say, the scenery was breathtaking.
We spent the morning catching up in a playground area while Jen's husband and son ran around playing.
Notice how I am on my tiptoes as Joanna and Jen stand in bare feet.
I might have eaten a cookie or two (okay, five) after we moved to our second picnic location after Mike and Max headed home. We sat for hours in a shady, grassy area surrounded by the city skyline and tall trees. It was perfect. I love each and every get together with these ladies. We always have plenty to talk about, whether it be teaching, crafts, books, events in the city, or boys (actually, we like to refer to them as manfriends and husbands). We can always pick up right where we left off, and I know I can count on them for advice on just about anything.

After I said goodbye to the girls, I walked around the park for a little while by myself with my Ipod headphones tucked in my ears and my camera in hand. It was the perfect way to finish my weekend relaxing in the city. New York City, I love you.
