Scenes from the weekend.

Emily and I declared last Saturday a girls' day. We spent the day wandering up and down Fifth Avenue and shopping around the city. We admired the breathtaking windows at Bergdorf's, looked at diamonds in evergreen-lined windows, and scored the coolest brown snakeskin-print motorcycle jacket for $12 at Gap Kids. The Christmas decor that lined Fifth was beautiful, and Emily eagerly stopped at each display and took it all in. After a snack in Rockefeller Center, we hopped downtown and got her her first pair of Chucks before meeting Brian for a late lunch at Le Pain Quotidien. I couldn't have imagined a better outing. 

About an hour into our day together, Emily turned to me and said, "We should make this our tradition." I smiled and asked her what she meant, and she quickly replied, "Our girls' day the Saturday after Thanksgiving. It should be our tradition." I told her I couldn't agree more. And so a new tradition was born.

    Girls day the Saturday after Thanksgiving sounds like a fantastic tradition to start! Magical things can happen this time of year on 5th Avenue between 58th and 34th Streets.
