This past weekend was our last with Emily before Christmas, so we packed in a lot of our favorite activities to celebrate the approaching holiday. Heavy snow fell all day long and into the evening on Saturday, which made the weekend even more magical. We had snowball fights, made a mini-snowman, watched Elf and The Santa Claus, and went on two more of our 12 dates of Christmas (more on those coming later this week). We also put the last of our ornaments on our tree; it is now completely covered and so pretty! Sunday afternoon Emily and I worked together to roll out sugar cookie dough and cut out angels, trees, sleighs, holly leaves, and gingerbread men. Once the cookies were baked and cooled it was time to decorate! Brian helped us frost and sprinkle, although he ate several of his cookies as soon as they were completed.
Let the final countdown to Christmas begin! Only 9 more days!
I usually don't love cold weather/snow but this weekend it was kind of perfect and pretty. Good excuse to stay inside too. Your cookies look great! I don't blame Brian for swiping a few :)
ReplyDeleteWe loved the snow on Saturday as well! We had quite a snowball fight on our patio. The snow is looking really pretty today as well!
DeleteI have eaten those cookies every morning for breakfast... Christmas is a dangerous time for my eating! We had a lot of fun decorating them together. My mom makes the exact same ones (I use her recipes), so I will be eating them in Minnesota next week as well!
I had to laugh loudly when I saw the photo of your cat on the fridge ... and I'm a little bit jealous that you have snow ;) ...
ReplyDeleteOur cat has been exploring lots of new places around our home lately for some reason! We always laugh when we walk into the kitchen and see her perched on top of the fridge.
